Mantuga did rise from beyond the sea Our minds did writhe about from ecstasy He opened his mouth and he spoke unto me I'm God's favorite gnome Legend come alive You know that God's favorite gnome Extends a gnarled hand To wipe away the pain Mantuga did fall down on bended knee His worldly palms stretched in harmony He spoke these words and returned to the sea

I dunno what to do When I'm alone Sit around and think of you And dream of home Guess I'll go and take a walk Down by the lake Try to find someone to talk If it's not too late I dunno what to do When I'm with you Sit around and think of home And dream alone Guess we'll go and take a walk If it's not too late Go find somewhere to talk Down by the lake

You and I were friends once When we were kids We got into trouble in the woods Behind your house I was jealous when my parents split And yours did not I could be careless with my words But you didn't mind A few years later we drifted apart Supposed to go west and I'm sorry I bailed And remember that time one summer? Thank God no one got pregnant And remember the games together? Arguing about D&D You and I were both weirdos back then But honestly I miss our conversations Visited you at college Felt the distance grow Then you said that we had Nothing in common I disagree 'cause I've known you for years People can change but you've got that foundation

So in Love 03:51
I can't tell you how it feels To be so in love Sunshine makes me feel good Darkness makes me bleed They say it's the shades of gray That make life worth living If world were black and white What else would I need? Crashing, tumbling, 'round my feet And it turns to dust I can't tell you how it feels To be so, so in love Crashing, tumbling, 'round my feet And it turns, turns to dust When will we learn to love the world? Hopefully before too long

I Told You 02:57
I told you I'd never return But here we are again You said we could work it out Now I long for this to end Told myself it'd be alright That we could find a way But here we are, it's the same old shit On a different day What have we become? Are we coming undone? Can't we just make peace? Or are we doomed to grieve? Cut off the limb but the poison remains It's burrowed in deep Can't go back or toss it all away 'Cause it's part of me But I'm lonely... so lonely Wanna hold you I told you

You can always tell me why You can always show me how Need you by me I could always tell you when Always tryna feel this way I need you by me Always glad to feel your touch Gives me shivers every time I need loving Every single time you laugh Every little kiss goodbye I need your love

It was a cold, cold night I saw her in the moon beams We stared down each other She asked for commitment worth a duchy What a noble pursuit! It was a hard-won fight She slathered me in flattery We stared down each other I asked her for her first disease What a noble pursuit! What is life but a noble pursuit? And what is a man without his bag of fruit? What is life without the pain and decay? I offer my hand--help or go away Time to put my money where my mouth is Let's go on a business venture Stave off the rot for another day Let's go open a bakery Now we got a family Two cars and 401(k) We stared down each other We asked Mantuga for his blessing

The Birds 02:04
It took the birds millions of years to fly So I guess I can change if you've got the time But who's got the time? Every word is a nickle or dime We put towards extending our time But who's got the time? Everything we do turns to shit Everything we touch turns to shit Let's burn down the world and start again Everything is fucked and it's going to end We think it's cool yeah we think it's fine To deprive other people of their time But who's got the time?

Babe I'll take you by the hand Take you to the gnomeland Where everything is fresh and green And there's a pastry in your pocket I'll massage your lower back Hand you a pointy hat You're safe now baby, Safe from all the judgement and the rockets Let's go honey, make me that promise And take this journey with me! I'm Mantuga! The legendary gnome. I'm Mantuga! I've come to bring you home. Baby look at all these colors Mauve, purple, teal, and others Honey wipe away those tears And let my kisses make you smile We can stay here forever Make a home from the feathers Sail on the wings of the Boojim bird Making love all the while

Got a dead-end job Selling insurance Working every day for the man The only bright spot In her life Is her coffee rewards program She picked up some Nietzsche On her commute home Read him cover to cover Broke down and cried When she realized This is it ‘til it’s over Baby’s first existential crisis Baby’s first existential crisis Is this all there is? What is waiting for us when we die? Is there purpose to life or not I wish I knew Back to the dead-end job Selling insurance Working every day for a year Building that pension Penny by penny To die alone and afeard Nietzsche why’d you do this? Open up my mind? Turn me against myself I see a resemblance In the mirror If I’ve only got one shot And it doesn’t matter Die or thrive, Sleep or pick flowers Should I survive off the land Or go back to my coffee rewards program?

Mrs Markus 03:41
Hey Mrs Markus Whatchu think about when you're gardening? That your husband's dead and buried Or your democracy is crumbling? I know it's hard to accept it When your side loses But that's not a reason For violence or excuses Just keep on living And it your enemy is me I would campaign for you And if your enemy is you I'd still campaign for you It doesn't have to be war at home We could talk about it instead Hey Mrs Marquez Whatchu think about when you're praying? That your daughter's in some danger From boys or a school shooting? You came into this country To escape the shit back home Does it feel like the nightmares Follow you everywhere? And it your enemy is me I would campaign for you And if your enemy is you I'd still campaign for you It doesn't have to be constant fear You have a network that loves you back

The Moon 03:43
I'm in love with a celestial body She's a perfect circle and perfect for me When she goes and disappears entirely That's my cue to melt away She has a way curing the maladies Her pock-marked face is tragically beautiful When she goes and disappears entirely That's my cue to melt away
